FAQ

I’m not running now. Is Run Camp for me? We specialize in people who are just starting or starting over. We have field test for beginning 5Kers to help determine the run/walk mix and individualized training schedules. Half marathon trainingers and marathon trainingers should be able to run the initially scheduled distances.

Do you allow “drop ins”and guests at Run Camp? No. Our camp structure and camp philosophy are built around the team concept.

Can I pick my own team? And, once I start, can I change teams? We assign teams by pace, but yes, if you want to run with your sister-inlaw, you can self-select your place on a team. And, yes, we have a drop-add system through the first several weeks. Additionally, we have cross-communication between teams of similar pace to maximize socialization and to accommodate mid-week running schedules.

Been there, done that. Do I need to attend the Saturday morning clinics? Absolutely. Everything we do has team-building implications, and we not only reinforce important training principles, but also introduce new information at our clinics.

I’m not an accomplished runner, but I’m considering becoming a Team Leader. What are my chances? We primarily select our team leaders from applicants who have a desire to help others, who understand that leadership largely is a matter of modeling behavior and who embrace our camp philosophy. Because we don’t know how many runners will join camp, and what their pace will be, we can’t commit to team leaders until it is time for the initial team leader training session, and quite often, matchups of race and event are the key deciding factors.
